First dates can turn into nightmares if you aren’t confident, comfortable and be someone else you are not. A good outfit can boost your confidence and make you comfortable. Here’s a style guide to what to wear on a first date for all you single ladies! Let’s ditch the #SingleLadiesClub and glam up to a gorgeous you.
1. Maxi dress + Flat Sandals
If you are a girly girl and looking for adorable princess vibes, go for a maxi dress. Dress up in florals or other dreamy prints and go for a pair of flat sandals for a daytime date. Switch up the look with a pair of heels and a maxi dress in plain colours for night time. Neutral colours and a little makeup do wonders in dinner dates.
2. White Tee + Jeans
A scoop neck tee in plain white is every girl’s everyday bestie. Look bold and elegant in this simple style with a pair of skinny jeans. Team up with a pair of loafers or cute sneakers and put on a simple dainty necklace. Remember girlies, being comfortable is the key.
For a playful date look, dress yourself up in a printed romper. We are obsessed with floral prints. Go for colours which you’re best complemented on. A pair of leather flat sandals will add more sporty vibes to your look while a teeny cross-body bag can give you the perfect finishing touch.
4. Stripped Tee + High-Waisted Skirt
We’re bringing the vintage glam back! Go for a striped tank top and a high-waisted skirt in black. Denims + black and white stripes are fashion’s favourite. A pair of simple but sporty sneakers can make you look more fashionable.
5. Casual Dress + Denim Jacket
Go for a mini dress, if you aren’t too shy to show some skin. The rule is to never show too much skin on a first date. Midis are fabulous and cold-shoulders are season’s most trendiest piece. A mini denim jacket can make you cosier and cuter. A small cross-body bag or a leather backpack are your companions here. When it comes to shoe-wear, team up with a pair of leather flats or balance your feminine side with a cute pair of sneakers.
Whichever outfit you choose, the key here is to be comfortable. Don’t show up in something you are not comfortable with. Mix and match prints and plain colours. And remember girls, be the real you. You wouldn’t want to be presented in a graphic tee and ripped jeans if you are too feminine and always dress up in maxis and midi skirts.
